Cross Stitch & Christmas Cake

Today I finished up three WIP's.

The first is a Lizzie*Kate cross stitch that I started last year & is now ready to be finished off into something nice.... just not sure what yet!

The second is my christmas cake. It's not perfect but it contains all that a christmas cake should & is topped with marzipan & icing :)

The third is another christmas cake, almost identical to the first but this one is for my mum. Hope you like it mum :)

Happy christmas :)

Bloggers BOM Block #3

I finished block three this week. I have to be honest I wasn't as keen on this block as the first two, mainly I think because quite a few of the fabrics in the Central Park range are directional & that included two that I wanted to use in this block. Anyway, I got over it & here's my finished block.

There is no block this month because obviously it's christmas day so we have to wait until January 25th for the next. Looking forward to it.

Happy stitching :)

Christmas Tree Wallhanging

WOW.... we've been major busy here over the last few weeks. Christmas is in full flow in our house & the twins are keeping us more than occupied with their wish lists that appear to grow day by day!

I have managed to finished a couple of projects & this is one of my favourites. It's a christmas tree wall hanging. It's new home will be on the dining room wall over the festive season. It was part of my college course I've been doing. Althought the course has been about curved seams our tutor thought it would be nice to throw in a festive project. Lots of the students embelished their trees with beads & sequins etc but I felt my fabrics looked lovely without any glitz or glam.

I like it so much I've already gathered together a selection of fabrics to make a different colour theamed one for the lounge :)

Happy Stitching :)

Quilt Group Mini Exhibition

Yesterday we had a mini exhibition at my quilt group, Shirley Quilters, & part of the exhibition was all the completed Block Of the Month quilts thats we'd been working on since January. I literally finished the binding on mine at around 22.15 Monday evening. So here it is, finally, my completed BOM quilt. I also went around & took photos of the other BOM quilts so you can see what other people achieved with the same blocks.

Hope you enjoyed seeing the quilts :)

Bloggers BOM Block #2

Woohoo... I'm on a roll :)

Here's my 2nd block from the quilt-a-long. I thought it looked a bit messy to start with, that was until I'd sewn them all together & now I love the result. Only down side now is having to wait until 25th for the next block to be released.

Happy stitching :)

Bloggers BOM Block #1

I've finally finished my first BOM for the Bloggers Block Of the Month.

It took me a while to decide on my fabrics & I've had a bundle of half metres of Kate Spains Central Park in my fabric stash for some time & i've been saving it up for the right project. I'm not sure if this is the right project but then the fabric is sooooooo lovely that I'm not sure the right project would ever come along so I had to get over it & make the cut, after all I can't keep all the fabric I buy forever..... can I???

I made a block & then made another 3 to go with it, thus making a larger block. I love it... really love it, hope you do to.

My friend Franney is also taking part in this BOM & to see her version of the block you can visit her blog & see it here.

The fabrics for block #2 are almost all cut & hopefully this monday I'll be sewing it up :)

A Lizzie Kate Completion

I was going to blog about a quilting BOM that I've just started but I realised that my last couple of posts have been about quilting & so far I haven't shared with you my finished Lizzie Kate so here it is.

I think you'll agree that it's been expertly finished & the fabrics really set off the design. If you haven't come across her yet & you have some stitching to be "finished" up then I strongly recommend you get in touch with KarenV over at My Favourite Things. She's pretty amazing at what she does :)

Happy stitching :)
