4th Blogoversary Giveaways :)

The 25th May saw my 4th Blogoversary & to mark the event I'm offering a giveaway... well 2 giveaways actually. One for Cross Stitch & one for Quilting.

Before I post you a picture of the giveaways I have just a few requests for your entry.

Now for the fun bit... the giveaway items.

First up is the cross stitch bundle. All items are from Polstitches Designs. It includes 3 pieces of dyed aida, all measuring 9 x 12 inches & 3 packs of limited edition hand dyed threads. The limited editions are called "Santa Says It With Thread", "Lets Talk Colour" & a pack which includes a Polstitches Designs cross stitch chart called Oriental Lady but appears to have no name. All packs have 7 hand dyed varigated threads in them.


Next up, the quilting giveaway. This is 8 fat quarters, cut fresh off the bolt. They're from the Notting Hill range by Fabric Freedom. I love this range & I'm looking forward to making a quilt from it myself but I'd love to see what the winner of this FQ bundle makes with theirs.

BOM & Central Park

I managed to complete the next block in the quilt groups Block of the Month. Funny thing is the fabrics I'm using for these blocks are the same fabrics that I used for my pinwheel quilt. I had quite a bit left so thought using it for these blocks would be perfect, the only thing is that so far I've only used up scraps from the pinwheel quilt & haven't even touched the yardage that I have left over. I can see many quilts in the future being made with these :)



I follow @fabricshoppe on Twitter & often they have some of the best offers but being in the states I've tended to just look but a couple of weeks ago they offered some half yard bundles of Kate Spains Central Park fabric & to be honest it was an offer to good to miss. I'm totally in love with the Central Park range of fabrics & with the $/£ exchange rate being so good at the moment it was well worth me ordering, even with postage it was a good deal, this week they arrived & here they are........ aren't they adorable? (I've ordered another pale blue one in the same range to go with it)


In the coming weeks I'm going to be offering a giveaway. 25th May is my 4th Blogoversary. I haven't decided yet if it's to be fabric &/or cross stitch.... how exciting :)

Blocks & More Blocks!

A couple of weeks ago I stitched up some blocks really quickly for some ladies at my quilt group. The brief was bright & garish with a 12.5in finished size. All the blocks they collect are being put together to create a giant wallhanging. It was something that I kept meaning to get around to doing but putting it off & putting it off until an hour before I was due to leave for group I realised it was the last day to hand them in!






The other blocks I have to share with you are also from quilt group. They are the February & March BOM's. You can see January's BOM here.

Red Nose Day.... When I Was A Kid

I remember the first comic relief... 25 years ago... does that make old?? don't answer that!

When I was a kid.....we all rushed out & bought the most awful hard plastic red noses that made you sore if you wore them for too long. We all paid a price to go to school in anything other than uniform, worth the 50p you'll agree :) The evenings tv was full up with fun & laughter, most enjoyable.

Now... some 25 years on I don't watch Comic Relief, yes it has some fun sketches but the it's the whole pulling at heartstrings bit that I just can't take anymore, I end up an emotional wreck. Once it gets back to a funny sketch you mop up your face, start to laugh & enjoy yourself & then all of a sudden BAM... they hit you with another relief story & you're back to hugging the tissue box again. I'm sorry Comic Relief, nowadays I just add my donation & enjoy a tear free friday.

Quilt Exhibition - Sevenoaks (image heavy)

I was going to blog about some blocks that I made up pretty quickly on Tuesday evening before quilt group but instead, I thought I'd share with you some of the lovely quilts that I saw at an exhibition at Sevenoaks, Kent.
