Hat Number 3 & Some Stitching :-)
Evening all.
Well today was the day, it was our Race For Life & this the part where I get to show you Hat Number 3 that was puchased this week. Here it is:
Isn't it the most wonderful sequined pink sunvisor ever??? They were a whole £2 from Primark & I was well impressed with my bargain puchase. In case you were wondering I'm in pink, number 243. From left to right is 244 Lyn Moore (Cousin & Godmummy), 245 is Tia Moore (Cousin & Goddaughter) & 246 Joanna Fowler (Bestest Mate). Here we are at the end of the race wearing our medals with pride. It was really hot, a whopping 26 degrees so not really that great for jogging so we did a mixture of walking & jogging & finished with a time of 55 minutes. More pictures to be uploaded to Facebook in the next couple of days.
Now for the stitching update. I took with me a little Lizzie*Kate design that I started a couple of months back. It was one of my 4 week rotation peices but since I got into the quilting as well my stitching rotation appears to have gone to pot! Quite fittingly the design is called Peace, Love & A Cure. It was one that I bought at Ally Pally last October & the colours are lovely. I think I have the last progress picture on the right side bar at the moment as a folder cover so you can see how much I managed to get done in the car on the way too & from the Race For Life. I'm quite pleased, hopefully I'll get it back in the rotation & finished up.

Happy Stitching & Good Night :-)

Updates!
Well here it is... a fresh new look. I was going for "bright & breezy" but in doing so kind of got minimalist as lots of my add-ons appeared to disappear & now I have to work out what I had, what I want & then have to somehow find the time to sort it out.
On Sunday just gone the babies reached 8 months. Since then I have been meaning to book up their 8 month check with the health visitor, now I find that Friday is pretty much upon me & I haven't actually been able to make the call to book the appointment.... time flies when you're having fun...hmmm.
Stitching update - what is stitching? do I even remember how to do it? stitching challenge for this year...... to do some!!!!
Warcraft update - Warcraft... ahh yes... I have a vague recollection of it & even received the latest explansion pack as a christmas prezzie. Just need to plug the pc in & start updates... that could take a week in itself.
Family update - we finally moved house, yes... Hooorahhhh, we have indeed moved house. Love it & hate it at the moment. So much to do (incl unpacking boxes) & no time to do in.
Shop update - we don't talk about the FLUFFING shop... but today I find there may be light at the end of the tunnel.
I still have bottles to make up for the morning, a headache which has been lingering all day & now I'm ready to crash. It's been a long day... I am ready to sleep.
xx

Good, Bad & the Ugly - Friday
Friday is a 3 fold day... where most of the busy-ness took place.
Up at 4am, yes thats right 4am (not that it matters much to me as I'm usually awake every hour on the hour atm). The parents arrived in their bus & it was off to the airport. We get to take them to the airport & then have the use of their vehicle for the duration of their holiday, provided that is that we pick them up again after their holiday! For those of you that don't know (or realise!) that this is the day that Greg & I would have been flying off to the sunny caribbean for a relaxing 10 day cruise (thank you very much parents). We'd have been accompanied by other members of the family as we celebrated both parents 60th birthdays. Alas... for us.... it was not to be (thank you very much twinlets!). We are over it now... no really we are, we get babies, not just the average singleton but the more special twin variety & for that we are grateful & how ever much that I (we_ would have loved to have gone on the cruise I do remind myself that there are people that are unable to have one baby, let alone two at the same time... for that I am eternally grateful.
For those of you that are in the know... the un-named wench was as expected... nuff said!
Ok... so thats the bad & ugly covered :-) Now for the good!!!
From the fun & frolicks of Heathrow we headed into & across town to The Baby Show... back to the Excel centre for us at Docklands. We got there at 8.30am, show doesn't start until 9.30am. Today we decided to up our ticket for the car park, rather than 2 hours we paid for 5 hours, worked out cheaper than doing it the other way. We had checked the show details the evening before so had an idea of how big it was, what stands we wanted to see & what else was on offer. Being a subject that neither of us have any real experience of we decided it would take us a while to work our way around. Oh how right we were. After spending our initial hour relaxing with a bacon bagel & orange juice we made our way into the show & starting our browsing. We collected every freebie we could, signed up for a ton of junk mail & made mental notes about what we'd like to purchase before leaving. Well a good 4 hours later & a few hundred pounds lighter we left the show & managed to fill up the entire boot space in the parents Galaxy. Lots of new toys for the new babies..... so much fun :-)

Weekend over :-(
Worked some more today on the Welcome House, no picture this week though, not quite enough progress today to warrant a further pic.
Had 2 flat viewings this weekend. Saturday.... they gave nothing away so we have to wait for a call from the agent on that one. Sunday.... now they seemed really happy with the rooms & kitchen etc so I look forward to hearing what the agent says about their visit.
Only a few more days to baby scan day. I just wish it would hurry up & get here. To say that I'm a little anxious is an understatement & at the same time I'm petrified & excited.
Lets hope Monday through Wednesday go quickly :-) xx

Merry Christmas
What a wonderful surprise I had this week. A friend of mine popped into the shop & produced a lovely gift bag full of goodies. I certainly wasn't expecting them & it left me quite humbled. I have to say that it has renewed my faith in good persons... and what a lovely person she is too.
I've been online shopping this evening... christmas eve.. how good is that??? Heaven & Earth Designs have a one day 30% off sale, well it would have been rude not to take part would it not? The design I chose was Ice Dragon, it's a nice blue design that will complement my Dragon Riders nicely... now all I have to do is make progress on that one!
I haven't yet chosen my 2008 Challenge piece for the stitching forum but I have a few days to decide, as long as I let them know before the end of the year I'll qualify for the challenge.
Dad has just informed me that the xmas table is laid & that the turkey has just one hour left to cook. Brother is playing with xmas gifts ready for the boys in the morning & we're watching Deep Space Nine while tinkering on the pc's.
Consultant appointment went well today, saw 2 little heartbeats, heard what we thought was 2 little heartbeats & made an appoitment for a couple of days after our ultrasound scan. Hopefully Greg will be able to make both appointments as I'm loosing track on what I need him for & what I don't... we can discuss it later. Still unsue as to whether we find out what sex our babies are... we're having that dilemma at the moment. Will keep you posted!
Nighty night & Merry Christmas.

Been a while... sorry!
Ok... it has indeed been a while.. but bare with me... I've been a tad on the busy side.
To start with we found out that our little bundle of joy to be expected on June 4th actually turned out to be a kitten... no.. just kidding.. we have twins.. Yayy... 2 little bundles of joy & most likely to be expected around the middle of May because lets face it although I'm a large girl even I can run out of space to house the little blighters!!!
Since finding out & going through almost 2 weeks of walking around like a zombie coming to terms with the idea of having two babies at the same time we have put our home up for sale, started looking for a new one & on top of that managed all of our xmas shopping too.
We had of course decided to close the shop but that brought us a few interested parties in the business itself. One of those turned out to be a complete waste of time & didn't even bother informing us of their intentions or lack thereof. Another has proved quite productive & looks like it could be going somewhere. A new interest has recently arrived but so far no definate info so we'll keep an open mind on that one for the time being. The best news about the most productive interest is that they have a vision to continue the store as it is but add to the stitching & wool ranges but also increase the haby side & add fabrics too.
Of course the sale of the business will also mean that we could buy a new car which will be essential as my little KA is not going to cut the mustard when it comes to twins & the paraphenalia that will no doubt come with them.
Ok... that will do for now I think.

Tis The Season....
Friday, September 7, 2007, 10:02 AM
... no not that season... holiday season. Yes thats right it's holiday season for the Butler (& Gillies) family once again.
Mum & dad headed off to Cork in Ireland this Wednesday just gone. Happy anniversary to them for 6th September, how they managed to put up with each other for so long is beyond me but there you go.
Monday Lee, Sharon, Jackie & Nephews are off to Centre Parcs for what I believe to be a week but don't quote me on that. Happy birthday Lee for Sunday, you'll have to wait until 23rd for your gifts but I know thats not a problem as you'll have more than enough to deal with when it comes to holidays, computers, dvd's, ironing & Alex starting school... eek.... scary!!
We have 34 days until we head off to sunny Portugal for our annual visit with Scott & Kerrie. This time we won't be staying at Colina with them but Scott has very nicely found us a villa in Carvoeiro with our own pool etc etc. Jessica & Patricia will also be coming along so we should have a highly entertaining few days.
Now all we need is to work out how to get to the airport!!!!

Saturday night at Mutha's

Good evening.Just arrived at my (Greg's) mums for dinner - chicken steaks in breadcrumbs I believe. I have now set up her new Sky broadband connection, which surprisingly worked first time!
I had a most amusing moment today. Those of you familiar with the Ronnie Barker sketch "The Hardware Store" will appreciate this. I had been fitting some new lights to the shop window, but the transformer did not come with a plug. So, off I go to the hardware store and asked the friendly chap "got any plugs?". Off he goes, and comes back with a rubber plug for the sink. I couldn't help but laugh in the poor chaps face. He must have thought I was mad. If you've not seen the sketch, or just want a laugh anyway some kind soul has put it on You tube: Ronnie Barker Sketch
Have a nice evening.
