Cross Stitch Finish & More Tula Pink

For the last couple of weeks I've been working on a cross stitch for a friends birthday.  It's been a relaxing way to spend an hour each evening while catching up on some TV.  After finishing the stitching I decided to make it into a mini wall hanging.  The birthday girl will soon be having a dedicated craft room & I thought it could be a perfect addition to the wall :)

I've also completed two new blocks in my WIP Tula Pink sampler quilt.  It's becoming increasingly more difficult to decide on the fabric for each block, but I really love how they're turning out.

This week I'm linking up to the WIP Wednesday linky party at Freshly Pieced so don't forget to head over & check out some other lovely WIP's :)

Vacation Cross Stitch

Well the summer is almost over here, it hasn't been a great one, far more rain than sunshine & really busy keeping the twins entertained all day, everyday.  As you can imagine, not an awful lot of sewing or stitching has been taking place over the last 6 weeks.  I did managed to take some Cross Stitch on our holiday, I even managed to finish a piece too :)

First up is Lizzie*Kate - Normal Is Just A Setting On The Washer.  This was started on 4th January 2012.  The first pictures shows my progress when at the start of my holiday & the second picture shows it completed.

Next up is Lizzie*Kate - Boo Club!.  Again the first picture is progress at the start of our holiday & the second is progress at the end of the holiday.  I'm totally unsure if this will be complete by Halloween of this year but you never know!

Another busy couple of weeks ahead while we prepare for the twins to start school & after that it'll be business as usual & the sewing frenzy will begin.

Don't forget that you can keep up-to-date with what I'm doing on my Facebook page too, I'm there almost every day (between playing with dolls houses, cars, lego & playing referee!) with little snippets of sewing, cross stitching, quilting, selling, fabric & all the fun stuff.

Wow... February already... the last week appears to have flown by.  I've been busy sewing & cross stitching & more sewing & oh yeah... more sewing.

This will most likely end as a cushion cover, love the fabrics.

Some lovely Robert Kaufman fabric that arrived in the post today.
It's a gift from another crafty sewing friend.
It's soooooo lovely, I can't wait to find a project for it :)

 New York Beauty blocks.
More foundation piecing middles for my NYB blocks.

Cross Stitch Progress

I totally missed out on posting the last update on my cross stitch so here you have two update images. I'm really enjoying stitching this design & I think you did indeed guess the name of it correctly. Normal Is Just A Setting On The Washer :)

On the sewing side of things I've been busy designing a New York Beauty quilt & cutting out fabrics for some small makes for a craft table that I'm having in February, so quite busy but not alot of photos or progress to show for it.

Oh yeah & on the design side of things, I'd REALLY like a copy of EQ7, so if anyone woulf like to send me one out of the kindness of their heart... please feel free :) LOL

Cross Stitch Update & Ooops.... more New Stuff :)

Here I give you the first update on my Lizzie*Kate cross stitch & in the words of Rolf Harris "Can you tell what it is yet???" LOL

Next, I recently visited a local quilt store that has relocated over the festive season to a nice new location. Larger premises, more fabric, better parking, what more could you ask for??

Well I had to go for some interfacing but unfortunately I thought I'd have a browse at the FQ's & I came across a lovely leaf pattern on cream & totally fell in love with it, so much so that I couldn't just buy the FQ but had to buy enough to use in a quilt & then (with the help of a friend), I just HAD to choose some further fabrics to go with it, thus giving me a new quilt project.... Ooops!

I also picked up a couple of FQ's with some yummy cupcakes on. These are for a project that I need to have a few dummy runs on first just to make sure I have all my measurements correct.

Oh yeah & some more FQ's, these are for a kiddy project that I also need to do some dummy runs on before cutting into these adorable fabrics.

New Stuff

When I got home yesterday I had one of those lovely little cards from the postman that says they tried to deliver a package but I wasn't at home. Annoyingly it was too late for me to collect so I had to wait until today & what a lovely package it was indeed......

Pom Pom De Paris Jelly Rolls x 2

These little beauties are for a commission quilt that I'll be making. Hope to share photo progress with you at a later date :)

With the twins still not back at nursery I've been unable to get my sewing machine out & work my way through the list of sewing on my previous post, so I started a nice new Cross Stitch to work on in the evenings. A lovely Lizzie*Kate design which I'll share just a little of with you for now. Have to let me know if any of you Lizzie*Kate fans know which design it is from the little bit you can see here:

Cross Stitch & Christmas Cake

Today I finished up three WIP's.

The first is a Lizzie*Kate cross stitch that I started last year & is now ready to be finished off into something nice.... just not sure what yet!

The second is my christmas cake. It's not perfect but it contains all that a christmas cake should & is topped with marzipan & icing :)

The third is another christmas cake, almost identical to the first but this one is for my mum. Hope you like it mum :)

Happy christmas :)

A Lizzie Kate Completion

I was going to blog about a quilting BOM that I've just started but I realised that my last couple of posts have been about quilting & so far I haven't shared with you my finished Lizzie Kate so here it is.

I think you'll agree that it's been expertly finished & the fabrics really set off the design. If you haven't come across her yet & you have some stitching to be "finished" up then I strongly recommend you get in touch with KarenV over at My Favourite Things. She's pretty amazing at what she does :)

A Long Time Coming.

Finally I've completed a Lizzie*Kate cross stitch that was started in January 2010, worked on for about 4 months & then relegated to the WIP pile for... Oooooo.... about a year (eek!). I picked it up again a few months ago & got cracking again, determined to have it up this christmas & here it is.

It'll be finished as a wall hanging but alas I won't be doing that part myself. I'm going to be leaving it to the lovely Karen V over at My Favourite Things.... just as soon as I can actually make it to a post office!!!!

Happy stitching :)

Some Updates

It's been major busy around our house at the moment. Mr G has been off in Africa for a Safari with my dad & I've been busy with the twins 24/7. Now they're just short of being 2.5 years old their energy levels have sky rocketed... couple that with the summer holidays & all of the playgroups being closed it's been pretty manic.
Some good news is that I'll be doing a Christmas Craft Fair in November, that means I've been going flat out in the evenings working on quilts, gifts & christmas fabric thingys. No pictures yet but hopefully soon. At the moment I'm working on a Star quilt, a lap or childs quilt & a christmas table runner.Working on the craft fair things has meant that my cross stitching has suffered a bit, not like I had hours available to stitch anyway but now I have even less. I do however have a couple of stitching pictures to share with you.
The first is Lizzie*Kates Peace, Love & A Cure. This seems to have turned into a travelling piece, I only appear to stitch it when I'm a passenger in the car. It's almost finished too, just the heart to finish off & the Peace symbol :-)

The next is the Lizzie*Kate Boo Club which is part of a SAL. I'm glad I've finally made some good progress on this, it's really enjoyable... if only there were more hours in the day!

Happy Stitching :-)
